This street was within ghetto limits from Nov. 16, 1940 to Sept. 1942. Originally the Social Security
building, the Nursing School was moved here from the Jewish Hospital in Czyste. The school was directed by Luba Blum (d. 1973), the wife of Abrasza
Blum, an important social activist in the ghetto and participant in the Ghetto Uprising (d. 1943).
