J. Lewartowskiego Street
A new street in the Muranów district, laid out partially along the course of the prewar Kupiecka and Bera Meisela
streets, which had a majority of Jewish residents. It was named after Józef Lewartowski (1895-1942), a communist activist and one of the founders of the Anti-Facist Bloc in the
ghetto. He lived in the ghetto in a house that survives at 10/16 Ogrodowa St. |
